From 20-22 March, WindEurope’s annual on- and offshore wind energy event headed to Bilbao for a three-day conference and exhibition.

The slogan for this year’s edition to Our wind, our value – Creating value for Europe, in line with European values. Wind Industry Hub Foundation has the pleasure and honour to represent Poland at the European wind energy event.

The event attracted 12,000 attendees, who joined to take a look at the shape of European wind energy today. There were dozens of conference sessions, hundreds of speakers and more than 500 exhibitors from across the value chain looking to showcase their innovations and make new deals. Throughout the event there were social events to meet new colleagues, as well as educational sessions showing all the ins and outs of wind energy.

πŸ’šβœ¨The substantive part started already on Tuesday, March 19, with a meeting entitled: “European Offshore main markets event”. Dominika Taranko Wind Industry Hub (WIH) gave a presentation on the potential of the Polish market. Jakub WnuczyΕ„ski talked about the Baltic Towers project. Attending the meeting organized by Basque Trade & Investment / Agencia Vasca de InternacionalizaciΓ³n and the Basque offshore industry were representatives from the UK, Scotland, Wales, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Turkey, Singapore, Spain and Brazil.
πŸ’šβœ¨On Wednesday, March 20, discussion sessions were held with Polish participants, including “A resilient supply chain for a transition made in Europe” with Maciej Mierzwinski, CEE Energy Group and Wojciech Rybak, Ambiens.
πŸ’šβœ¨Thursday, March 21 started with a Polish-Dutch bilateral breakfast in the Netherlands pavilion, where we discussed potential areas of bilateral cooperation in the field of wind energy between our countries. And at 10:00 a.m. in the Norwegian pavilion, a meeting was held with Polish companies, who had the opportunity to talk with JΓΈrgen Brandt Theodorsen, Norwegian Energy Partners (NORWEP) and Tor Arne Johnsen, Norwegian Offshore Wind, who invited Polish companies to participate in the supply chain for a floating wind farm project being developed in the eastern North Sea. During the VDMA Resilience Club meeting, Dominika Taranko took part in a discussion dedicated to the challenges of the market and national and EU policies in supporting wind energy development. The meeting ended with Giles Dickson, CEO of WindEurope, commenting on the resilience (“resilience”) of the value chain of wind projects in Europe.
πŸ’šβœ¨Friday, March 22, a debate was realized with the participation of Sebastian Jan Wionczek of ORLEN Neptun. The discussion: “Ports – capacity and supply chain hubs”. A panel discussion “Opportunities in Poland and the Baltics” was also realized, with participation of Joanna Irzabek Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) and Laura Ε trovalde, Invest in Latvia.
