On Wednesday, January 29, Dominika Taranko, Vice President of Wind Industry Hub, Piotr Czopek, Vice President of PWEA, and Maciej Mierzwiński and Krzysztof Tomaszewski, Presidents of CEE Energy Group, met with Vice President of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) Paweł Pudłowski and Tomasz Kopka from the Investment Department to present the conclusions of the developed Polish Offshore Wind Farm Industry Development Strategy.
A team of experts from the Wind Industry Hub, the Polish Wind Energy Association and the CEE Energy Group prepared the POLISH STRATEGY FOR DEVELOPMENT OF THE MARINE WIND FARMS INDUSTRY. The document discusses the importance of offshore wind energy in increasing the supply of cheap and clean energy in Poland, summarizes the context of the strategic position of the offshore wind industry in the European Union, focuses on drawing lessons from the first national experience in the construction of offshore wind farms, and identifies systemic solutions necessary for implementation to make offshore wind farms an engine for the development of the Polish economy.
At the center of the document are the Priority Implementation Programs – a set of key market segments that (as determined by detailed market and economic analyses, experience, synergies and safety aspects) should be developed in Poland.
The authors of the POLISH STRATEGY FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE OFFSHORE WIND FARM INDUSTRY also proposed to make the understanding of the challenges more consistent within the EU and to support the coordination of the development of the wind industry, by applying a common approach to the concept of supply chain development for offshore wind energy.
The purpose of the meeting was to recommend areas of potential support for the wind sector from the PAIH. The agency can play a key role in supporting investments and partnerships in the area of industrial processing and services for the wind industry.
