In the study, we reviewed the GBS (Gravity-Based Foundation) technology, including a discussion of its advantages and limitations. We also checked which projects successfully used GBFs in offshore wind investments. We also devoted a separate chapter to slipform technology as an innovative solution enabling fast production of foundations. The maturity of the solution can be demonstrated by a demonstrator, a testing ground and the implementation of appropriate R&D investments.
One of the greatest advantages of GBS is the possibility of building an almost entirely Polish supply chain, involving domestic suppliers in the production process. This is particularly important from the point of view of the Wind Industry Hub Foundation, which works to support the development of a strong industry and service base for the wind sector in Poland.
