We were a part of the Annual Event of WindEurope, Europe’s largest wind organization, which took place from April 8-10 in Copenhagen. And this time, there was no shortage of Polish accents. Already in the opening session, on the morning of Tuesday, April 8th, in a 1:1 interview with WindEurope President Giles Dickson, the Marshal of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, Olgierd Geblewicz, took part. Right after the opening session, a joint presentation by the investors of the Baltica 2 project took place at the Orsted stand, in cooperation with PGE Baltica.

Then, in the afternoon of the same day, on the stage of the Market Theatre, where current information from all wind markets in Europe and selected markets outside the continent (e.g. the USA) was presented every day, we organized a Polish networking event together with PWEA, preceded by two substantive discussions moderated by Janusz Gajowiecki, Piotr Czopek, Dominika Taranko and Arkadiusz Sekściński, in which the following people took part:

In the discussion “Offshore wind hub in Poland”:

➡️ Olgierd Geblewicz, Marshal of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship

➡️ Adam Kowalski, Grupa Przemysłowa Baltic

➡️ Janusz Bil, ORLEN Neptun

In the session “Onshore Wind Market”:

➡️ Michał Orłowski, TAURON Group

➡️ Paweł Majcherkiewicz, FAMUR

➡️ Piotr Listwoń, Polish Power Exchange

There was a lot of interest in the event, which reflects the growing role of the Polish market on a European scale, which was also noticeable in other panel discussions at the conference.

On the second day of the conference, together with Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), the Polish Embassy in Denmark, the PIMEW chamber and Dansk Industri, we organized a Polish-Danish-Norwegian discussion dedicated to supply chains for offshore wind energy and international cooperation. During the meeting, Dominika Taranko presented the assumptions of the Polish Offshore Wind Farm Industry Development Strategy, while President Janusz Gajowiecki took part in a discussion moderated by Joanna Irzabek, Business Development Manager, PAIH Foreign Office in Oslo, consisting of:

  • Agata Staniewska-Bolesta, Managing Director, Ørsted Offshore Poland
  • Bartosz Fedurek, Chairman of the Board, PGE Baltica
  • Alexander Bradshaw, Lead Sales Director, Sales Offshore North & East Europe, Vestas
  • Janusz Bil, Chairman of the Board, Orlen NEPTUN
  • Jørgen Brandt Theodorsen, Director for Offshore Wind, Norwegian Energy Partners (NORWEP)
  • Adam Kowalski, Chairman of the Board, GP Baltic

The most important messages of this year’s WindEurope conference are:

It is worth adding the statement of one participant that the “Green Deal” is today de facto a “Security Deal”, which is hard to disagree with given the complicated geopolitical situation. So, with a lot of inspiration from Copenhagen, we continue to operate and we are not slowing down.
