The 3rd International Supplier Day at the PWEA2024 Conference in Świnoujście is behind us. The main host of the day was the Wind Industry Hub (WIH) Foundation.

The event was attended by, among others, representatives of the European Commission, ambassadors of the Baltic countries, key ministers managing the development area and investors with international experience in offshore wind farm development, representatives of the administration and a group of wind industry experts.

One of the topics discussed was the future of the offshore industry in the Baltic Sea and how to use offshore experience to build offshore wind farms. The Wind Industry Hub (WIH) paid special attention to domestic specialties and what the model for European supply chain development should look like. An important topic was ensuring the operational security of strategic investments, which will determine the energy security of Europe as a whole, as well as individual countries in the coming decades. We also did not forget about the issues of common infrastructure of projects for the construction of an integrated Baltic power grid, as well as the challenges for the development of onshore wind energy in environmental terms.

The International Suppliers’ Day also included a number of workshops such as:

  • Fostering collaboration in the region: Opportunities for suppliers with Vestas
  • Code of good contractual practice
  • cPPA – a practical workshop for power generators and consumers
  • Is it possible to fabricate monopiles in Poland?
  • Road map of public assistance in Poland – how to maximize support from public sources?
